One of the more unique features of the zoo is the Nature Boardwalk, which serves as a natural ecosystem for native birds, frogs, fish, turtles, insects, etc. This zoo is open daily from 7 AM to 4:30 PM.
The historic Logan Theatre, operational since 1915, is one of Chicago’s most iconic attractions. A community staple, The Logan Theatre hosts local film festivals and open mic nights. In addition to showing big blockbusters and independent films, there’s also vintage movie posters and film artifacts on display. The opulence of the building’s Art Deco design is not indicative of the ticket prices, which have remained well under $10, making it the perfect place to take friends and family to enjoy the latest flick.
Adler Planetarium has been educating the public about space science and exploration since 1930. Some of the most notable exhibits include informative films in the theater, the hands-on Community Design Lab, and the Telescope on the Terrace. The Alder Planetarium is open daily from 9:30 AM to 4 PM. General admission is only $12 for adults and $8 for children.
