- Chicago SummerDance: September 2-3
Put on your dancing shoes and prepare to cut loose at our Summer Dance series. There are free dance lessons and live bands. Grant Park offers 4,900 square feet of dance floor so you can swing, tango, jump, jive, or line dance.
- North Coast Music Festival: September 2-4
Come see a variety of artists—both visual arts and music. Musicians will be performing hip-hop, indie rock, and more (names like Zedd, Bassnectar, Odesza). Bring your chairs and cooler and spend the day at Union Park enjoying the music.
- 38th Annual Chicago Jazz Festival: September 1-4
Celebrate with hot jazz at the lakefront! Our 38th Annual Chicago Jazz Festival will feature local, national, and international artists and strives to promote jazz for people of all ages. Enjoy popular acts such as Orbert Davis’ Migration, Charlie Haden’s Liberation Music Orchestra, The Bad Plus, and Oliver Lake.
- Great American Lobster Fest: September 2-3

- African Festival of the Arts: September 2-5
The African Festival of the Arts brings the African culture to Chicago as it has for 26 years. Washington Park hosts over 300 vendors and artists with traditional crafts, art, and textiles. The festival features four sections: Kush (wearable arts), Songhay (African arts and crafts, natural products, and collectibles, Timbuktu (African fabric and fashions), and Nubia (fine arts). At the Bank of the Nile, you’ll find a food court that will make your mouth water!
